What's a typical Headshot/Portrait Session is like?
My headshot sessions are all about capturing your unique personality. I’ll coach you to get a range of expressions and I recommend bringing lots of clothing options. Sessions can last from 15 minutes to 2 hours, depending on your needs.
For portrait sessions, I mix things up with different lighting and backgrounds. These sessions last at least 3 hours and include everything from headshots to full body shots.
Throughout the session, you’ll review the images with me to pick the winners. At the end of the whole process, you can buy your favorite images for $150 each (above and beyond the session’s included shots), which includes unlimited personal use and free professional retouching.
In a headshot session, I usually stay up close and personal. But I might move around a change lenses to vary the backgrounds, and play with more variety in terms of expressions and poses.
During the session, we’ll review the images together to pick the best ones. This helps to adjust the focus of the session and make sure you get the shots you need.
Sometime after the shoot, we’ll connect to review and narrow down your selection. We’ll consult on things like expression and retouching options. In the end, you’ll choose the images you want to purchase. They’ll be professionally retouched and delivered to you about a week after your shoot.
HAIR & MAKEUP:
Makeup is optional but highly recommended (esp. for women). Ideally we start off more natural, with touch-ups and changes to more accentuated looks as the shoot progresses.
Hair should be styled as we’d like it to appear in the photos, and we'll discuss this ahead of time. But unless we've arranged for a hair stylist on the shoot, please come ready for your first look.
For men, makeup isn’t necessarily recommended but light grooming for skin and hair doesn't hurt. Facial hair can be shaved or trimmed during the shoot, for different looks, if we arrange this before.
Just make sure to discuss any hair or makeup needs with me before your session to make sure everyone’s on the same page.
SCHEDULING:
I’m available for shooting Monday through Friday, with 1-2 sessions a day starting around 9 am. The time can be adjusted to fit your schedule, but make sure not to schedule anything important right before or after the shoot.
To book a session, you’ll need to pay the full session fee. Additional prints can be arranged after. You can book online or contact me directly, peter@pbrphoto.com. If arranged through me, payments for hair/makeup can be made on the day of the shoot, and image purchases as well, once we decide on the winners.
At the moment, I accepts cash, Paypal/Venmo/Zelle, and will have credit card payment shortly. Just make sure to discuss any payment needs with me before your session.
